Pork recipes
It’s time for some pork recipes that I make. The only thing I like better than good pork is good beef however I love a good pork BBQ when it’s made using a pork loin. Lol, yes, I have a recipe for that. I’m not really sure what my favorite pork recipe is because it seems to change with my mood.
I love good BBQ ribs, pork roast, pork chops and even good pork cutlets. I make a crock pot pulled pork recipe that everyone raves about and is very simple to make. It goes great with some coleslaw and baked beans.
My favorite quick pork chop recipe use chops cut from a whole pork loin. The chops are browned and then put into a pan and covered with dressing. Baked potatoes and cheese cauliflower go real good with that recipe.
I’ve pretty much given up on pork roasts unless they are extremely lean. Most just have way to much fat in them to make a great tasting roast. However cutting a pork roast from a pork loin makes a very tasty pork roast. Paritcularly when it’s made with onions and baby carrots and served with whipped potatoes and gravy.
A very long time ago I worked at an upscale chicken place that also sold ribs, chicken, shrimp and pizza. We had the very best ribs in town and we also had the best rib sauce. Lol, I still know how to make both of them and I’ll give you the recipes on another day.
As far as rib dinners I buy I don’t think you can do much better than Chili’s ribs. Always tender and tasty and I can eat a whole rack of their ribs. I go there at least once a month for the ribs. I’ve tried other places but their ribs are usually tougher than I like or to much fat. Baby back ribs are about as good as BBQ ribs can get.
If you really want to make some good pork chops on the grill cut them from a boneless pork loin. Make them about 1.5 inches thick and then just salt and pepper them and throw them on the grill. If you can find some really lean pork cutlets they go great on the BBQ grill, too.
I’ve never developed a taste for ground pork tho. I don’t know what they do to it but it doesn’t seem to taste much like pork. Maybe it’s because I don’t know how to cook it but hey, I thought pork burgers might be good. Heh, they weren’t.
Ham is also great but I like the cured Virginia hams you find hanging in the tourist traps. Lol, they can almost always sell me one of those tasty hams but they are just a tad high priced. Worth it but an extravagance I only indulge in about once per year.
Some time next week I’ll write out some of my best pork recipes and put them up for you. You will probably be surprised how easy they are and how good they taste. If you and your friends like BBQ pork, pork roast, chops or pulled pork come back in a week or so and see what kind of tasty pork recipes I have for your eating pleasure.
