Can an electronic cigarette help you with quitting smoking?

Can an electronic cigarette help you with quitting smoking cigarettes? Did you even know there was an electric cigarette? Me either but they now make electronic cigarettes that are very close to smoking he real thing. Even with simulated smoke.

The simulated smoke isn’t real smoke, it’s a water vapor but it looks like smoke when you exhale. I’ve tried quitting smoking a ton of times and it’s something I’ve never been able to do. Not even using the power of my mind.

Maybe the electronic cigarette can help me quit. I don’t know but I do know I’m going to try it. The electric cigarette does give you the nicotine your body craves and that’s for sure what I need to quit smoking.

Like most people I’ve tried the nicotine patch, nicotine inhalers, nicotine gum and the stop smoking pill, Zyban. I came the closest to quitting smoking when I was using the nicotine patch, the nicotine inhaler and Zyban all at the same time.

The biggest problem with quitting smoking using any of these smoking cessation aids was I didn’t get enough nicotine. It’s the nicotine we are addicted to, not the cigarettes, the smoke or anything else. Altho the motions we go through are also part of the habit or routine.

I’ve smoked high nicotine cigarettes all of my life. I started smoking Lucky Strikes 54 years ago. I switched to Camel non fileters then to Pall Malls and then to Dorals. All non filter cigarettes. Lol, yes, I’ve smoked for 54 years and I’m still alive.

When I tried the last time I used 2 nicotine patches, the Zyban, the nicotine inhaler and hard candy and suckers. Plus a few cigarettes per day. I managed to get down to 3 cigs a day and stay there as long as I did all the other things too. However that got very expensive, very quickly. I just wasn’t getting enough nicotine to keep my withdrawal symptoms at bay.

It seems to me the quitting smoking products just don’t give a high enough nicotine level for long term, high nicotine, cigarette smokers. Another problem with these products is the price can be as much as 10 times higher than the price of cigarettes altho the latest govt move in raising cigarette taxes has made smoking very expensive. Quitting smoking aids are still quite high compared to cigarettes.

The electronic cigarette may be the first thing that came along that can help us hardcore smokers kick the habit. It’s cost is also less than buying cigarettes. This new electronic cigarette is call “Blu”. You can smoke it anywhere, on the bus, on a plane, anywhere smoking isn’t allowed you can smoke Blu because it’s not a real cigarette. No cig smoke, no tar, no smell and no tobacco. Heh, I’m going to get some just for the places I really need a cigarette and can’t have one.

The funny thing is it really is cheaper than smoking, I just don’t know how many cartridges I’ll go thru every day. 1 cartridge is supposed to equal 15 cigarettes so 2 per day would be what I expect if it’s going to stop my nicotine cravings. However these products aren’t usually strong enough for me so 4 a day should cover what I smoke. That still makes Blu cheaper than the real cigs I’m smoking now.

Anyway, I’m ordering mine when I finish this article and I expect they’ll work better than anything else I’ve tried, including hypnotism. I think it’s going to be fun to pull one out in the restaurant after a meal and watch people freak out because they think I’m smoking. For once I won’t have to leave the restaurant 30 seconds after swallowing the last bite of food.

If you’re interested in quitting smoking you might want to give the electronic cigarette a try. It’s the newest thing I’ve seen and one of the few that still give me hope I might be able to quit smoking. If you want to give it a try you can find it at Blu Electronic Cigarettes.

As I said earlier, I haven’t tried this electric cigarette yet. I’ve got copd so bad I can barely walk a block without having to stop for 5 minutes and catch my breath. I can’t carry in all of my groceries because I have to sit for 5 minutes after each load I haul in. If an electronic cigarette can help me breathe better and do more of the things I like it will be well worth the price. Considering it’s cheaper I already think it will be worth it. If you really want to quit electronic cigarettes may be the way to go.

Nice post. I picked up a Blue electronic cigarette not to long ago and I love it. I will never smoke a tobacco cigarette again.

I have quit smoking regular cigarettes using the electronic cigarette. I absolutely love it and don’t know what I would do without it. My house no longer smells like smoke and I feel so much better!! I recommend the Joye 510 model. I love it because I can fill the cartridges myself over and over again, so they are cheaper than the ones you buy that force you to buy their cartridges. I have saved a ton of money using the 510. If you’re thinking about trying them, stop thinking and do it. It will be the best thing you’ve ever done for yourself and those around you. It is a miracle product.

  • I smoked cigarettes for most of my life and stopping was literally impossible. I attmpted all of the quitting products but none did the trick. Then I discovered the e-cigarette. The electric cigarette. The electronic cigarette uses a nicotine fluid that has just nicotine. No cancerous substances at all. They have literally saved my life.

I quit smoking without any aid and without replacements ! I just read Allen Carr’s book “The Easy Way to Quit Smoking”. I also read “Freedom from Nicotine” written by John R. Polito from whyquit. It is all about using intelligence against addiction. Using eCigs just keeps you addicted.

I used an e cig to quit. I stopped analogs cold turkey on October 1st, I used the e cig until about Christmas on and off, until I realized one day that I hadn’t craved a puff in over a week. I keep one around still (March) for just in case cravings. I was really tempted to go buy a pack after a big fight with my DH, but I just had a puff off of my e cig and felt better. I consider myself quit, two puffs in three months is next to nothing. I highly recommend the cost to anyone, mine was $80 and well worth it. I don’t stink any more, and I have more energy.

As of this writing, I quit smoking one week ago today. My biggest help has been the ecig. I feel pretty good about it so far, but eventually I will put the ecig down as soon as my lungs clear out or even sooner. I just hope the ecig isn’t gonna become ecrack…lol Even though people quit smoking with these ecigs, we’re still pumping our bodies full of nicotine.
