Keeping a food journal or other diary, works.
Keeping a food journal is one of the most helpful methods in weight loss. Writing it down in a journal has now been proven to work with weight loss according to some new research. This is the latest information on keeping a food diary.
It’s a very powerful technique as it reinforces what you are doing, in your mind. It also lets you see patterns that may be making it harder for you to lose weight. Keeping a daily journal or diary of your calories, fat and cholesterol and anything else you want is one of the easiest things you can do.
Yes, I know, there’s some work involved but it’s sure not as hard as working your abs, running, weightlifting, jazzercise or anything else. If you can lift a pen and a piece of paper you can simply write it down. No trendy clothes for the gym, no sweaty bodies around you, no being out of breath or having muscle fatigue.
Simply putting a pen to paper can help you double the amount of pounds you take off. Every time you look at your journal and see how far you’ve came it just makes you want to do even better.
Like the post about building self esteem, this keeping a food journal works. The self esteem journal works because you need to tell yourself that yes, even tho they aren’t all huge things, you do do good things all day long. In a few days just the sheer number of good things you actually do starts to open up for you and it becomes easier.
Writing things down creates different pathways in the brain than does simply seeing it or even typing in something like I’m doing now. I’ve always found it much easier to remember things I’ve written down than things I’ve just read or things I think I’ll remember.
If you need to lose a few pounds try keeping a daily journal of what you eat and I’ll bet you can find a pain free spot to trim away a few calories and never notice you didn’t have that item. There are always little things we eat that add up to a lot more than we think. Keeping a food journal will let you know the trouble spots and help you eliminate them.
