Precognitive dreams - can dreams be premonitions of the future

A personal answer to precognitive dreams. Have you ever wondered “Can dreams be premonitions of the future?” From my own personal dream experiences I can tell you, without a doubt, dreams can tell you what will happen in the future.

While there are many reasons given as to why do people dream I don’t have a good answer. Nor do I know the meaning behind dreams or if there is even a meaning to most dreams. I just know sometimes my dreams are precognitive.

How do I know dreams can tell the future? Because I’ve had dreams that came true. Can I prove this scientifically? Nope, not a chance. All I can offer as proof is my own personal experience and that just doesn’t satisfy science. However, it does satisfy me and several other people I know.

Not only do I have dreams of the future, sometimes I can make them happen. Most times when I do dream of the future I know during the dream that it is a dream that will come true. My precognitive dreams are not your normal dreams. No flying, no fantasy, no falling and none of the other mumbo jumbo that requires someone to do dream interpretation.

They are as real as reality is. Nothing weird happens. Actually, as far as dreams go they are pretty boring. There is also a feeling about them that I can’t explain but does tell me which dreams are real and which aren’t.

For years, since 1976, I’ve had precognitive dreams of the future. Lol, now if I could just tell the future of stocks or the lottery or something like that I’d be rich but no, it doesn’t seem to work that way. Believe me I’ve tried.

Some nights I can make dreams of the future happen but it’s kind of rare. 4 to 5 times per year on average. Overall I have an average of about one a month that I can remember. I used to tell my cousin about them after what I’d dreamt had happened. She told me to start writing them down when I had them, so I did. Now she believes me but she can’t do it near as often as I can.

How do I make dreams of the future happen? Simple, I just tell myself to have a dream of the future. Easy as falling off a log, I wish. I’ve figured out that they happen more frequently when I don’t take any kind of drugs before going to sleep. No Xanax, no cough suppressants, no alcohol, no sleeping pills, nothing at all.

When I’m laying there waiting to fall asleep I just keep telling myself, in my mind, “Subconscious, I command you to give me a dream of the future and make me remember it.” Naturally I’m one of those people that keeps a notepad on my nightstand so I can write down whatever I remember when I wake up. Whether right after the dream or at the normal time in the morning.

Now this isn’t new age wackiness but it is old age wisdom. I actually got the idea I could do this from the Rosicrucians. They can teach you to do great things with you mind. The wisdom they teach is from ancient times and from the bible, not some new age quackery fast buck artist.

One other little thing I know about having dreams of the future. The future is not set in stone. It can be changed if you recognize the situation early enough. Next time you are in a Deja Vu circumstance, try to remember what’s going to happen next. If it’s something you don’t want to happen, change your actions or words so it doesn’t happen. You’ll be surprised, as I was, that things could be changed.

Unfortunately the vast majority of my dreams are of things in everyday life. Some of them I change and some I don’t. I’ve avoided a few largeĀ problems by paying attention to my dreams but by and large most are pretty unexciting.

If you want to have precognitive dreams or don’t believe dreams can be premonitions of the future try commanding your subconscious to give you dreams of the future. It does work but you may have to do it every night for a long time to actually get a dream you remember. After you have a few you will be able to tell the difference in dreams of the future that are going to happenĀ and regular dreams.

If you have one please come and make a comment about it. I’d appreciate it and I know other readers will also. You can do many seemingly amazing and impossible things with your mind. Dreaming the future is just one of them.

Yep, if you can learn to recognize them while you’re having the dreams it makes it een easier to remember them. It’s really simple, if you focus on what you want to dream about and keep trying it will happen.

I’m glad for you and after visiting your site I don’t think you’re evil at all. Lol, at least not any more than I am.

I have those kinda dreams sometimes.. I had this unfortunate even where a friend’s money got stollen and I tried asking for truth in my dreams on who took it.. and it showed that it’s this new sweet girl that I just met.. We’ve been hanging out for a while now.. but I don’t know whether to believe my dream this time? I get premonitions in my dreams sometimes.. But I am just so confused now…

Well, if it was me I’d have found a way to test the new girls honesty and veracity. Then you don’t have to rely on your dream as proof. Perhaps I’d leave some money lying around where she’s the only one with access to it and see what happens.

As for the premonitions that come in dreams, with out knowing more about you and how often your premonitions happen and if you can tell drems that will come true from those that won’t, I can’t tell you much.

If your premotions that you dream happen frequently when you’re awake then I’d pay a lot of attention to them. If they happen seldom I wouldn’t pay much attention. If you have even one wierd thing in a dream, it’s not a dream that’s likely to come true.

It does become easier when you can recognize true dreams from false dreams. It just takes some time. I hope it gets easier for you.

Hi,i tell you about my experiences. It started with my parents having strange things that happened in their past. Like 2 separate window binds going up at the same time and the next day recieving a telegram saying a brother was killed over seas. But ill get to mine ,i usually dont have dreams i remember but the day before my father died i woke up from a nightmare in the middle of the night thinking i was living at my father s as a young boy and a van pulled up to the house and i went to the door thinking it was a delivery and when i opened the door a man came charging in at me chasing me like a mad man. I woke up and told my wife about the dream. She said in the morning as we discussed it that my father probably passed away and i had the call that morning from a family member. The same evening my sisters 8 year old daughter was in putting her p js on and started screaming , my sister ran in to see what was the problem and she said there was an elf in the mirror looking at her.She recieved the call the same day as me about our fathers passing. Another was , driving home one night from out of town i seen a glowing figure on the side of the road and it bothered me that i started questioning if i was tried and imagined it. So i pulled into a garage to stretch and have a cup of coffee and a chat with the attentant which lasted about 15 mins and then continued on my way home on the highway .Acouple of miles down the road a 18 wheeler was flipped on its side across the highway and i felt the glowing figure i saw made me question myself so i pulled off and averted that accident. If my parents didnt tell me these things of their past i probably wouldnt have thought of these as premanitions. The mind is a power thing.

Ron Johnson @ 12:09 am:

I have had several dreams that have been precognitive. As early as six years old. I dreamt that I woke in a pile of hay in our barn. I walked to the front of the house and there was a police man standing in front of our house. In real life, i woke up at that point and went to look for my mother. I found her on the porch with my step father and a police man. The police man had obviously been there on a domestic disturbance call and told my mother that she should round up the kids and he would take us to grandmas house. 15 minutes later before we even left, my step father shot and killed himself.

A few years ago, when i first met my daughters mom, i dreamt that she would leave me for a construction worker. 3 yrs later she left me. Not for a construction worker but the guy she left me for… his last name was the same as a local construction company that was familiar to me.

Ive had so many it would literally take all night to jot them all down. The one that i am struggling the most with right now is. 2 months ago i was with someone that i cared about very much. I dreamt that she was struggling emotionally. In the dream she was sadly saying good bye to someone, he left and she came back to me, hugged me and held my hand. My interpretation is that she was struggling emotionally for her recently divorced ex husband but eventually would chose me and come back to me. This one could very well be just a dream. Its been almost two months now and no sign of coming back.

However, a week after we broke up i had another dream. I dreamt that I was back at her house again. but everything had changed. I cant explain in detail what changed but in the dream nothing was the same! But I was back and didnt complain. A week later i was informed by my ex that she had some sort of catastrophy at her house and all of her floors needed to be redone. How freaky is that? Yet, its been almost two months so maybe just parts of the dreams sometimes happen? It can be very confusing at times and sometimes i feel like im going to go insane. Im sure its a gift but its a confusing one at times. God bless. Comment please. I would love to hear any opinions or insight. Ron

James, premonitions come in all kinds of different ways as your experiences attest to. I pay close attention to mine and use them when possible. However I know which dreams I have will come true and which won’t so I tend to trust them a lot more.

Unfortunately I’ve never had anything happen like the blinds or seeing strange figures, glowing figures or anything else. The closest I can come to that, in personal experience, is one day I was driving down the road to go to a town about 50 miles away and about halfway there the sky and clouds changed to a very dark purple.

The sky had been deep blue and the clouds as white as they could be. IOW it was a normal spring time day and no storms or anything else was in the area. I thought it might be my sungalsses causing the phenomenon so I took them off and the sky got even more purple.

I have no clue what was going on or what caused it but I certainly didn’t feel comfortable with it so I turned around and went home. The next day I talked to several people and nothing had happened where I was going nor on the highway to get there.

That’s the major problem with premonitions. You don’t always know what you avoided or even if you avoided anything at all. You just know you had a feeling or sign that caused you to change your mind about what you were planning or going to do.

From what I know, have seen, or read, I believe children can see more or are more open to what adults would consider strange. Because of adult pressure children soon learn to ignore what they really see and stop telling adults about it because of the ridicule they receive. It’s to bad we, as a species, seem to force everyone into the same niche and the same beliefs.

You’ve had some interesting experiences and have handled them well. Keep it up and keep trusting your instincts even if it may see wierd to others.

mastermind @ 9:05 am:

Hi Ron,

The first thing I thought of when reading your post was don’t worry so much about whether yur dreams are going to come true or not. Sure it can be scary if you try to over think it or become obssesed with it happening or not happening.

I believe that these things are entirely normal and this makes you normal, too. While your friends or family may not believe in what you see in your dreams it doesn’t mean you are going crazy, becoming unhinged, losing your mind or anything like that.

I understand it can be scary but there really is nothing to be afraid of. Try to relax and just let life happen. It will unfold as it’s supposed to. Just be alert to what’s happening when you recognize the circumstances you saw in your dreams. If what you saw in the dream came to a bad end, it’s possible to change the outcome by changing what you say or do or by simply removing yourself from the situation.

I tend to discount any dreams I have about people I’m deeply and emotionally involved with when we aren’t together anymore. The strong emotions and wanting the person back can be very misleading when it comes to dreams and premonitions. At least in my experience. Sometimes I attribute those dreams to wishful thinking.

Also be careful of having dreams, like the construction worker dream, where you think about it so much you actually make it come true. Next time you have a dream like that try and figure out what you can do to change the outcome that was reached in your dream. Don’t obsess over it but relax and watch for points where you can change the outcome and then do the things necessary to get the outcome you want.

The future is not written in stone and inevitable. We always have the ability to make different choices than we did in the dream. In my view precognitive dreams let you know what’s going to happen if nothing changes, however if you change something then the outcome has to change. Look at it as more of an advanced warning of future problems.

Think about it like the gas gauge on your car. The needle is always moving away from full abd if you don’t change what’s happening your car is going to run our of gas. That’s inevitable if you keep driving without filling up. However you can change that end result just by stopping and putting more gas in your car. Things are only inevitable if you let them be that way. Taking action when you see the problem will change the outcome.

Scientists know little about the mind and how it really works or what it’s really capable of. The negative attitude surrounding the mysteries of the mind make it much harder for people who do have precognitive dreams or other non scientifically repeatable premotitions, psychic experiences or anything else the majority of people consider ‘normal’.

Science want’s things to be repeatable and have the same outcomes everytime. Unfortunately the mind doesn’t seem to work that way or science doesn’t have the tools, yet, to be able to measure accurately and make the results repeatable. Science does not like, and never has, anything that relies on anecdotal evidence. They want hard proof before they will believe anything.

The Rhine experiments proved that some people have some sort of psychic ability but not how they do it. It’s really to bad that a lot of this type of experimentation is not carried on today. It’s sort of considered Voodoo science and not particularly reputable to be involved in this sort of research.

I’m considered a highly logical person by most people, at least until I get into areas of what the mind can do. Then people think I’m crazier than hell. The ‘Secret’ is one example of this. You can change your life just by changing the way you think. I’ve done it and I know others that have done it so for me I know it works. Perception and belief can change what we see as reality and can in fact change our future reality.

As for how long it takes for a dream you think is true to happen can be days to years. I had a dream about 5 years ago that I believe is going to come true. It hasn’t yet but I’m still waiting. I was walking along a pure white sand beach with a woman and we were having a good time. Not a care or worry in the world. I didn’t get to see the womans face but I got the impression she was tall, skinny, white, younger than me by quite a bit and very beautiful.

I have no idea where this beach is or who the woman might be. Even tho I’m currently living with a woman she doesn’t meet the description at all. She’s short, black, pretty and a few pounds overweight. Yet I have no doubt the dream is going to come true sooner or later. Just because I can’t see how, when or why doesn’t make it any less likiely to come true. So I just wait to see what’s going to happen next.

Maybe it will come true maybe it won’t. Maybe it will come true and I’ll still be with my current love. Maybe it will be totally innocent and unrelated to romance. I won’t know for sure until it happens. Lol, when it does happen I’ll sure recognize it tho.

All I can say is try to relax and let life happen. When you see a point where you can change the outcome to be more what you want, then change it. Don’t worry what others think as most don’t even have a clue as to what’s possible and precognition is far from most peoples list of possibilities. You aren’t crazy or in danger of losing your mind.

You have a gift that can help you through life and tht’s more than most people get. Cherish and embrace it and use it when you can. Don’t be afraid of it just because others might be. What’s normal for you is not normal for them but they think if they haven’t experienced it or if science can’t prove it then it’s not possible. They are wrong.

Relax and stop stressing over it. Grab yourself some books and learn more about the mind. If you are truly worried then I’d say go to the Rosicrucians website and signup for some of their courses. They can and will teach you more about the mind and how you can strengthen some of your abilities or enhance the ones you already have. You can find them at Rosicrucians Mind Teachings.

There are a few books on the Mind Resources page that may be able to help you. Check them out if you like. They might be able to teach you more ways of using yur mind or at least make you more comfortable with what you already have.

I understand it can be scary but it’s only as scary as you let it become. I see you as absolutely normal but confused. To get rid of the confusion you just need a bit more knowledge about what you and your mind can do and what is truly possible through the power of your mind.

Good luck and thanks for your great comment. Sorry I was slow in answering. Christmas threw me off schedule.
