The reality of your reality
Reality isn’t always real. Never has been and never will be. The reality you have, compared to the one I have, is very different. Even if we grew up together.
Reality is a funny thing because most people don’t even know what it is. They just think they do and they are usually wrong.
Why? Because your perceptions are what make your reality. Perceptions are colored by your past experiences and by your subconcious mind. Two people in the same time and in the same place can have very different perceptions of what’s real and what isn’t.
Lets say there are 5 people in a room and the room temperature is 72 degrees. Now the temperature is a fact that you all know. Not to get to complicated but facts should be the same everywhere. Always scientifically provable.
Of the 5 people in the room, one is chilled to the bone, one is just slightly chilly, one is very comfortable, one is to warm and one is so hot they are sweating. Right there you have five very different realities yet all are in the same place at the same temperature.
Another example. Your wife and daughter are traveling in a very remote area of Australia and your wife makes her usual call to you every Monday morning at 10:00 AM. The next day your wife and daughter are killed in and accident in the outback. They are found by other people almost right away.
To the people who found them your wife and daughter are dead. That’s their reality. However, you aren’t notified for one reason or another for a week. So for that week, in your reality, your wife and daughter are alive and you are patiently waiting for her to call the next Monday.
What people consider reality really isn’t. Most of the time it’s their perception. The five in the room perceived it to be to hot, to cold or just right. Just as you perceived your wife and daughter to be alive in your reality.
Perceptions we have make everything different for everyone. It’s one of the reasons eyewitness testimony can be so different for people who all saw the same thing.
Always remember that what people tell you is reality is just their perception of reality and not the true fact by itself. If you can remember that you can be more tolerant of other people and their ideas and understand that you don’t know their reality.
