If you’re interested in mind power you’ve probably heard of the universal mind and maybe even wondered what it is and how you can use it in your life.
The universal mind is known by many names, including cosmic consciousness, subjective mind, subconscious mind, higher self or the collective unconscious mind. We all contribute to and draw knowledge from the cosmic consciousness. In other words we are all connected to the universal mind and it makes us one with all other people in the world.
The universal mind is all knowing, all powerful, all creative and it is always present for you to give or get information. It connects us all together and makes us a part of one whole. Interestingly enough, if you are religious you will probably recognize the closeness of the description of what the universal mind is and many descriptions of what God is.
Many believe, me included, that we all have access to all the knowledge in the world that is know and unknown. Through the mind we have access to infinite power and limitless creativity of everyone in the world.
The concept of one collective mind started way back around 480 BC with the philosopher Anaxagoras. He taught that all things” were created by the mind and that the mind held the cosmos together and gave humans a connection to the cosmos, or a pathway to the divine.
This is an aspect of ourselves that is beyond our physical bodies. It can act as a guide, counselor, best friend, parent or whatever we need at the moment. Out higher self communicates with us in many ways, intuition, hunches, life changes etc. While we may choose not to listen to or act on the information it is always there for you to use if you want to.
The higher self tends to bring pictures of an angelic or mystical being and there is a little truth to that idea but the higher self is more physical than most people understand. If you choose to follow the path of the universal consciousness then you will become the physical manifestation of your higher self. Because the cosmic consciousness is infinite our potential is also just as infinite.
Everyone has a mind and that’s what makes us different or special. Our mind is the real “I” and it’s through the mind that we exist. Some believe that all of our existance happens totally in the mind, including the existance of our universe. According to quantum physics this is a very real possibility.
Some think the Mayan calendar ending on December 21, 2012 means the end of our existance or the end of the world as we know it. I believe it means the end of the world as we know it today. We will transition to a model where we are all one and the universal mind will be commonly accepted. It will be a better world than we have now rather than the end of the world.
It’s easy to see ourselves as al being separate because of what we look like or where we live in the world but if we truly all are part of the cosmic consciousness then we are all of one mind despite our physical differences.
When we understand that we are all of one mind, the universal mind, we will also understand that what hurts one person hurts every person. The more knowledge we gain the more we understand that we are all part of one whole and not very different at all, deep down. We all have the same basic needs and the same basic questions.
Could it be that we are just multiple copies of same being? Certainly this is what the Bible says when it says everyone is created in Gods image. All life on earth is interconnected and in reality, one huge life form that is constantly changing, evolving and adapting. Each form of life has different degrees of self consciousness but all forms of life all have the need to survive and reproduce. Why then do we think of ourselves as all being totally separate rather than all of the same being?
The way we behave and respond to situations is based on what we believe to be true. We use language to convey our thoughts to others. However these thoughts are independent of language because everyone is part of the universal mind. On a fundamental level we are all minds engaged in thoughtful activity. We are the same being, only at different stages of comprehension.
Perhaps the Mayans have it right and we will behave the same way and react to situations in the same manner because how we react is based on what we know and believe to be true. When this happens the many will become one again; the same state of being appearing in multiple form but in a state of oneness not separation. This is more than a possibility and I believe it’s what the Mayans meant rather than a doomsday scenario.
How is it that we have access to this universal mind or cosmic consciousness? To make it very simple to understand just look at it this way. Your brain has the capability to both receive electrical signals and send electrical signals. It’s just how your brain works. To put it even more simply, your brain is a transceiver that can both send and receive information.
This is a very simple explanation but it should help you understand hop we can all be connected to the one cosmic consciousness and how we can send and get information from the universal mind. If you’re a Star Trek fan the Borg are a great example of a universal mind.
We are in a evolutionary process that is leading all of us an all knowing being that can achieve heightened understanding. Our evolution has taken us from separation to unification. We are caught up in an evolutionary process that means we are all evolving into a universal mind.
